Delete your account or your data

The short version
- Two different requests. Deleting your account closes it and takes everything with it. Deleting your data empties it and leaves you signed in.
- In the app is fastest for closing an account: You → Delete account. It happens immediately.
- Already uninstalled, or want the data cleared but the account kept? Ask below and I will do it.
- Neither one can be undone.
- Most of KaraokeList never needed an account, and that part was only ever on your phone.
Delete your account, in the app
Open KaraokeList, go to the You tab, scroll to Account, and tap Delete account. You will be asked to confirm, because it cannot be undone.
Your songs are cleared from that phone at the same time, so a shared or resold device does not hand your setlist to whoever picks it up next.

Prefer email? Write to dev.michael.jones@gmail.com from the address you signed up with and say which of the two you want. That address reaches me, not a support desk. Allow a few days either way — I am one person, not a rota.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account removes all of this:
- Your account and sign-in.
- Your songs, your sings, your nights out and the venues you saved — every copy stored under your account.
- Your profile, including the answers that shaped suggestions and your public @handle, which returns to the pool for someone else to take.
Deleting your data removes the same things except the sign-in and the @handle. The account still exists, still belongs to you, and still holds the name — there is simply nothing under it. Choose this one if you want a clean slate rather than a closed door.
What stays, and why
Two things outlive an account, and neither identifies you.
- Karaoke venues you added or corrected. These are a shared map that other singers rely on — a bar does not stop running a Tuesday night because you left. Your name comes off them.
- Anonymous diagnostics. Crash reports and error logs carry the app version, the device model and what went wrong. They carry no name, no email and no identifier that points back to a person, so there is nothing in them to find and delete.
You may not need an account at all
KaraokeList opens with no account and most of it never asks for one. Your setlist, logging a sing, identifying a song and browsing the karaoke map all work signed out — and signed out, your songs live only on your phone. Deleting the app deletes them.
An account exists for the things that genuinely need one: carrying your list to another phone, the AI features, your public @handle, and adding to the shared venue map.
