Who makes it

My name is Michael Jones. I built KaraokeList because I kept getting to the front of the queue with the book in my hand and no idea what to put down — and because every list of karaoke bars I could find online was either years out of date or a phone number that rang out.

There is no company behind this and no team. If something on a city page is wrong, it is wrong because I got it wrong, and you can tell me so.

Where the listings come from

Every venue on this site and in the app has been through the same pipeline: found from public place data, then confirmed as actually running karaoke against a source that says so — the venue’s own site or listing, an events page, a schedule. A place nobody can confirm does not get written up as a karaoke bar.

The listings were last checked against their sources on 14 August 2026. That date is printed at the foot of every city guide, and it is the date the checking actually happened — not the date the page was rebuilt, which is a different and much less useful number.

What it does not claim

Karaoke nights move. A bar drops its Tuesday, a host quits, a room closes. Anything here can be out of date the week after it was checked, and the honest thing is to say so rather than present a schedule as a guarantee. Ring ahead if you are making a special trip.

The city guides are also not the whole list — they are the venues worth knowing first, written up as prose. The full map, including the places that never make a guide, is in the app.

The app

KaraokeList is free to download, and the parts most people use need no account at all: your setlist, the log of nights you have sung, and the karaoke map all work signed out, and the list and the log work with no network either. An account is for the things that genuinely need one — syncing to a new phone, a public @handle, contributing corrections, and the suggestion features.

Nothing you write is shared with anyone unless you choose to contribute it. The details are in the privacy policy.
