Northeast Minneapolis is the district. Four confirmed venues, three of them singing every night: Northeast Palace, the Vegas Lounge, and the U Otter Stop Inn, which adds an early happy-hour session on Saturdays. The 1029 Bar covers Wednesday through Sunday from its Northeast corner.
The other thing to know is that the Twin Cities sing at the veterans' halls. Four VFW posts and an Eagles club hold confirmed karaoke nights here, led by the James Ballentine "Uptown" VFW, where the calendar reads the same every day: karaoke. Sing at the post
The Uptown VFW is the headline, but the pattern runs right through the metro. Fred Babcock VFW Post 5555 in Richfield sings Tuesdays and Fridays and keeps civilized hours — an early night that still ends with applause. Kraus Hartig VFW in Spring Lake Park gives Monday over to an early session of its own.
Shakopee VFW Post 4046 takes Thursdays. The New Brighton Eagles post does the first and third Friday of the month, plus every Saturday night. Membership halls, early starts, hosts on first-name terms with the room — it is a genuinely different way to run a karaoke scene, and it works.
The St Paul week
St Paul spreads its five confirmed venues across the calendar. Mancini's Char House takes Tuesdays. Tin Cup's takes Wednesdays. Mounds Park Sports Bar covers Sundays — and Wednesdays too, after the bingo finishes.
Saturday is the big night east of the river: Joe and Stan's and Mcknight's both sing well into the night, and Park Grove Bowl down in Saint Paul Park shares the building with the lanes.
Early, occasional, and on an actual stage
The Schooner Tavern runs Monday karaoke before dinner — finished before most rooms have opened — then comes back Tuesday night for the conventional version. Monday is also the night The Saloon puts karaoke on its Main Stage, and Eagle MPLS takes Wednesdays.
