Karaoke inOmaha

The metro's every-night karaoke lives on the Iowa side, where 3rd Base and Kikkers keep Council Bluffs singing seven days a week. Omaha answers with Renos on Farnam Street, open daily and billing itself as Nebraska's only private-room karaoke bar. And out in Ralston, Scorz sings on Saturdays — but only from October to April.

This is a two-state karaoke metro, and the split is real. Cross the river to Council Bluffs and you find the everyday rooms: 3rd Base, where the DJs start the library up at 9 every night, and Kikkers on Avenue C, also seven days. Stay in Omaha and the calendar turns weekly — most bars hold one to three nights and hold them firmly.

The exception is Renos Karaoke on Farnam Street, private rooms open daily, to 2am on Friday and Saturday. Around it, Omaha runs a tidy circuit: Full House Bar and Winchester both take Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 9 to 2, and nearly every other night of the week has a bar that claims it by name.

Weeknights, one bar at a time

Omaha assigns its weeknights like chores. Monday is Beer City on L Street. Tuesday belongs to Stoli's Lounge on North 120th at 9pm and Touch of Class Lounge on Fort Street. Wednesday brings The Run on Leavenworth, 8pm to midnight, and Jammer's Pub on Galvin Road.

Thursday is the deep one: Stoli's again, FLIXX Lounge & Cabaret Show Bar on South 10th, the 7pm start at the Dock in Council Bluffs, and — on rotating weeks — DC's Waterhole down in Plattsmouth. Worth a call before the drive, that last one.

Saturday, and the seasonal one

Ten of the seventeen confirmed venues run on a Saturday, the widest night the metro has. Touch of Class takes its second night of the week, and Geneaux's Pub on South 108th holds its one — while thinking out loud, reportedly, about adding Wednesdays.

The strangest schedule belongs to Scorz Sports Center in Ralston: Saturday karaoke from 9pm to 2am, October through April only. A karaoke season, same as football has one. If it is July, Full House and Winchester are singing that same Saturday night.
