Karaoke inBoston
Five venues here never take a night off — an open-mic bar on Commercial Street, private rooms in Chinatown and Quincy, a two-format house in Allston, and a Tewksbury room that sings until 12:45am. The other twenty confirmed venues spread across eighteen cities and towns, and out there the karaoke night is as likely to be at a steak-and-sushi house or a pizzeria as at a bar.
Downtown Boston keeps the mic within a short walk of itself. Sissy K's on Commercial Street runs karaoke seven nights a week, 8pm to 2am, and The Hong Kong on Chatham Street sings every night but Monday, always until 2am. The Alley Bar in Pi Alley gives Sunday a free-admission night, and a few streets south in Chinatown, Station KTV rents private rooms every day of the week.
The full list runs to 25 confirmed venues across eighteen cities and towns, and the everyday rooms are not all downtown. Stage Karaoke in Allston runs both formats daily — private studios from 1pm at the weekend, a lounge singing to the room from 8pm. Oscar's Pinatas in Tewksbury matches the city night for night, and Pagoda KTV gives Quincy rooms by the hour from 5pm every day. Beyond those, the metro mostly takes Friday and Saturday, and it takes them at restaurants as readily as bars.

Where dinner gets a verse
A striking share of Greater Boston's confirmed karaoke happens where food is the day job. Franco's Karaoke lives at Franco's Pizza on Moody Street in Waltham, Thursday through Saturday. Samba Steak & Sushi House in Framingham has karaoke going by 8pm on Friday and Saturday, and the house's own advice is to come those nights for the high-energy party vibe. Lavender Asian Cuisine & Bar in Sudbury sings the same two nights, 9pm to 1am.
Cathay Center in Weymouth runs the longest week of the group, Wednesday through Saturday, 9pm to 1am. Maui Restaurant in Brockton keeps Friday for Karaoke with Tommy, 8 to 11:30pm, 21 and up. At all of these the singing is the evening shift, not the identity — which tends to make the rooms friendlier, not less serious.
One night, kept weekly
Wednesday splits between Karaoke @ Club Cafe on Columbus Avenue — from 8pm, and the venue's own advice is to arrive early to sign up — and The Grotto in Brookline, 9pm to midnight. Thursday belongs to Queeraoke on Washington Street in Jamaica Plain, from 10pm; in Norwood, Napper Tandy's runs Karaoke with Charlie on Thursday and again on Saturday.
Sunday has its own pair of single-night rooms: the Alley Bar downtown, 8pm to midnight with free admission, and Porter Belly's in Brighton. Medway Cafe holds Saturday, and is by local account a popular place for it.
Main Street, Tewksbury
Two of the metro's 25 confirmed venues sit on the same street in Tewksbury. Oscar's Pinatas at 346 Main Street runs karaoke seven nights a week, 9pm to 12:45am — as many nights as anything in Boston proper. TJ Callahan's Pub at 1475 Main Street takes Wednesdays, then raises the stakes on Thursdays with live band karaoke, the only live-band night on our confirmed list.
Between them, one suburban Main Street holds nine karaoke nights a week. Nobody plans a town that way. It just happened, and Tewksbury gets to keep it.
