Three venues here never go dark. The Westerner on the west side is a karaoke bar every night of the week, with a dedicated room for it and one of the longest singing evenings in the valley. Highlander Club in Holladay sings nightly too, and out west in Magna the Copper Miner Saloon does exactly the same.
From that floor, the calendar builds evenly. Club 48 in Murray sings five nights, The Tavernacle downtown five more, Willies Lounge holds Thursday through Saturday, and the single-night bars are spaced through the week so neatly that Sunday still musters seven venues — one of them getting going in the middle of the day.

The east side, twice over
One stretch of the east side carries two very different schedules. The Highlander Club in Holladay sings every night — the third of the city's three nightly rooms. Closer in, in Millcreek, A Bar Named Sue runs Sue's Karaoke on Monday and Thursday, a late start for the committed.
Between them in spirit, if not on the map, sits Club 48 in Murray: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Five nights puts it level with the Tavernacle — the two busiest calendars here short of running all seven.
The single nights, in order
Monday opens at Poplar Street Pub downtown. Tuesday and Wednesday belong to Keys On Main, and Wednesday is the busy shift: Area 51 runs karaoke at the downstairs bar — alternative, rock, metal, pop and campy fun, by the venue's own account — while Old Towne Tavern in Midvale gets going earlier in the evening.
Thursday and Sunday are Club Try-Angles nights, each one billed as legendary. The weekend belongs to Catrachos in West Valley City, which sings Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and starts its Sunday session in the middle of the day. Piper Down in the Ballpark neighborhood closes the week on Sunday night.
Count it up and Wednesday and Thursday finish level, eight venues apiece. A tie is an unusual shape for a karaoke week, and an agreeable one — whichever midweek night you get free, the answer is the same size.
