The rooms carry the week here. Access Karaoke in Chinatown is open every day, Fuji Mountain in Rittenhouse keeps rooms seven days, Musictown in North Philadelphia does six, and Duba, just over the county line in Elkins Park, is open all seven. Fat Moon in Callowhill matches that schedule at the open mic — karaoke every night, free.

Everything else runs to a pleasing rhythm: one bar, one night, a striking share of them Irish pubs — Tuesdays at Brownies, Fridays at Daly's, Sundays at Paddy Whacks. One Callowhill address, twice

One Callowhill address appears twice in the confirmed list. Fat Moon runs its free nightly karaoke there, and Thursday Karaoke at West Tavern — same building, its own listing — takes Thursdays. Whatever else that block is doing, it is not skipping a night.

Free is a small Philadelphia genre of its own. Besides Fat Moon, VOIX Karaoke in Northeast Philadelphia runs free karaoke at the bar Monday through Thursday — the quiet half of the week, covered for nothing.

Three states deep

The metro's edges sing too. In New Jersey, beyond Songbird's suites in Collingswood, the 45th Street Pub in Edgewater Park runs Wednesdays and The Cool Cricket in Fieldsboro takes Fridays. In Delaware, Bar XIII in Wilmington does Mondays — the one confirmed venue in the metro whose single night is a Monday.

North of the city line, Duba in Elkins Park keeps its rooms open every day, and Salt Korean BBQ in North Wales opens rooms Friday through Sunday.

A pub for every night

Line the single nights up and they cover the calendar. Tuesday is Brownies in Old City. Wednesday is GSH — an early-evening karaoke at Bulletin Bar inside the Gather food hall. Thursday is Luna Lounge, also in Old City.

Friday splits between Daly's in the Northeast and Murphy's Tavern in Roxborough, with Ray's in East Passyunk besides. Saturday is Tavern 17 near Rittenhouse Square, or Breen's out in Rockledge. And Sunday is Paddy Whacks on South Street, kept sensibly early.
