One venue on our list, on the Central Eastside, is given over to private rooms, Trio Lounge keeps some alongside its weekend open mic, and Drop The Mic Karaoke, across the river in Camas, does both every night. Everything else is open-mic karaoke in a bar, so if you want a door that closes, book ahead.

Seven bars run karaoke every night of the week: The Alibi in North Portland, Suki's 2 on Hawthorne, Hallway PDX in Old Town, the Trap Restaurant in Foster-Powell, Twenty First Ave Kitchen & Bar in Northwest, Fortune Star in outer Southeast and the Ambassador in Hollywood. A weeknight is not a problem here, though nights change, so check before you go.

A live karaoke band that has been playing in Portland for more than twenty-five years. Instead of singing over a backing track you pick from the band's songbook and front the actual band. They play Mondays at Dante's downtown.

A Devils Point night, on Fridays and Sundays, where you sing karaoke and the club's dancers perform to whatever song you have picked. It is long-running and well known locally, and it is exactly what it sounds like.
