Olive Way, and the rest of Capitol Hill
Crescent Lounge and Hula Hula are a block apart on Olive Way and both run karaoke every day of the week. It is the most concentrated karaoke on the hill and the easiest place to switch rooms mid-evening — one song here, the encore next door.
The rest of Capitol Hill fills in around them. The Cuff Complex sings on Wednesdays and Sundays. Unicorn does Mondays. Twilight Exit, just off the hill, takes Sundays, and Rock Box covers both formats daily.
The Chinatown-International District
The International District has two very different rooms within a block of each other. Vox Karaoke rents private rooms every night. Bush Garden is the older institution — sign-up karaoke six nights a week, closed Tuesdays, and a room that has cheered on a lot of first-timers.
Nights with a character of their own
A good deal of Seattle karaoke is about the particular night rather than the particular bar, and those nights are worth planning for.
Little Red Hen in Green Lake runs Wednesdays. Julia's on Capitol Hill does drag karaoke, where the hosts bring the glamour and you bring the big finish. The Monkey Pub in the University District runs live-band karaoke three nights a week. Columbia City Theater does Wednesdays in its Bourbon Bar, and Karaoke @ the Eagles in West Seattle runs on the second and fourth Fridays of the month only.
